Construction Updates

NOTICE - An ECUA water main break occurred at 2 S. Palafox Street and is currently under repair. Reinforced erosion mitigation and sediment is being addressed.

Week 4 Update - Demolition is complete, ECUA water line and stormwater infrastructure installation continues, curb forms being installed on north end for hardscape installation.

1/27/26 - Intendencia Street intersection closed for ECUA water line replacement. Water line replacement has been completed at all other intersections.

1/15/26 - Romana Street intersection closed overnight, should reopen mid-day 1/16/26.

Limited pedestrian access to intersections; Romana, Government, & Zarragossa Street intersections will be closed intermittently while ECUA installs water pipe. Intendencia Street will be closed intermittently during construction, as it is the only intersection capable of accommodating large trucks.

What Remains Open
Sidewalks and businesses along Palafox remain open throughout construction, and east–west crosswalks to provide reliable pedestrian access, when construction allows. Nearby parking—including 412 free on-street parking spaces—also remains accessible.
